Crystal Singing Bowls

What Is a Sound Bath?

Not a bath. Not music. Something in between.

A sound bath is a meditative experience where you lie down, close your eyes, and let sound wash over you. There's no water involved — the "bath" is the sound itself. Singing bowls, chimes, and drums are played slowly and intentionally, creating vibrations that your body feels as much as your ears hear.

You don't need to meditate. You don't need any experience. You don't need to do anything at all. You just lie there and let the sound do the work.

What actually happens to your body

The vibrations from singing bowls and chimes work on your nervous system directly. Your heart rate slows. Your breathing deepens without you trying. Your muscles release tension you didn't know you were holding. Many people fall into a state somewhere between deep relaxation and sleep — fully conscious but deeply rested.

It's not spiritual unless you want it to be. It's not mystical. It's physics — sound frequencies affecting the body. The experience is real whether you believe in energy healing or not.

My Instruments

Every instrument here has a story. None of them were bought to fill a catalogue.

How Sound Found Me

I was at a Reiki session — curious, not sure what I was doing there — and at the end, the practitioner played a crystal singing bowl. I didn't know it was coming. I didn't know what it was. But I felt it deep in my chest, below the level of thought. That sound reached somewhere nothing else had.

That moment led to the Koshi chime from my sister-in-law, then the Indian bowls, then the full crystal set. I didn't plan to play for other people. But the more I played, the more I realised this wasn't something to keep to myself.

What to Expect

Whether you join a local session or listen on YouTube — here's how it works.

🎧Use headphones for online sessions

I record with a Zoom H3 VR — a spatial audio microphone that captures sound in 360°. With headphones, you'll feel the bowls positioned around you, not just coming from a speaker. It makes a real difference.

🕯️ Create a calm space

Dim the lights. Light a candle if you have one. Lie down on a mat, a sofa, or your bed. Put a blanket over yourself — your body temperature drops when you relax deeply. Make the space feel safe and quiet.

⏱️Sessions run from 15 to 60 minutes

Short sessions for a quick reset. Longer sessions for deeper work. Start wherever feels right — there's no minimum requirement. Even 15 minutes of sound can shift something.

🌿No experience needed

You don't need to meditate. You don't need to believe in anything. Just lie down, close your eyes, and let the sound reach you. If your mind wanders, let it. There's nothing to get right here.
