A classic steamed green tea from China. Sencha is one of the most widely drunk teas in Asia — clean, grassy, slightly vegetal, with a gentle natural sweetness. Steaming (rather than pan-firing) preserves more of the leaf's original character and antioxidant content.
This is your everyday green tea. Nothing exotic, nothing complex — just a solid, reliable, high-quality sencha that does what green tea is supposed to do: calm focus, gentle energy, and a clean taste that doesn't get in the way.
Brewing: 2–3g per cup. Water at 70–80°C (below boiling). Steep for 1–2 minutes. Re-steepable.
Why I chose this
This is the workhorse. Not the most exciting tea in the shop, but the one I always have in stock at home. When I don't want to think about what to drink — when I just want tea — this is it.
